However, amidst the dreary atmosphere, there is an undeniable excitement in the air tonight at the Garage in Glasgow.

The legendary band Soul Asylum is making their much-anticipated return to the city, bringing with them a wave of nostalgia and a fresh burst of energy. Next, Soul Asylum made their comeback with the Slowly But Shirley tour. As Dave Pirner, Michael Bland, Ryan Smith, and Jeremy Tappero stepped onto the stage, they were warmly welcomed by the Glasgow crowd. They kicked off their set with a track from their latest album, “The Only Thing I’m Missing,” which had the audience dancing along. Following that, they delighted fans with the classic hit “Somebody to Shove,” setting the perfect tone. The crowd sang along with the band, and it was clear that both the band and the audience were thoroughly enjoying the experience.

The audience comprised a blend of both young and old, leaning towards an older crowd who had witnessed the band’s performances years ago at the renowned Barrowland Ballroom in the city. While the band was promoting their new album, they also revisited tracks from their earlier albums. The outstanding “Made to be Broken” from the classic album of the same name had the crowd relishing the older songs.

The audience was captivated when the iconic chords of “Misery” echoed through the venue. Dave’s vocals were as powerful as they were when the song first came out. The band was in peak condition, showcasing highlights from their new album, aside from singles like “High Road,” “Freak Accident,” and “The Only Thing I Am Missing.” The standout tracks were “Freeloader” and “Trial By Fire.” This performance was Soul Asylum at its finest, delivering their greatest hits.

The set concluded with an electrifying performance featuring major hits like “Black Gold” and the outstanding “Runaway Train.” They wrapped up with the superb “Just Like Anyone” from the “Let Your Dim Light Shine” album. As the band exited the stage, they received thunderous applause, making it clear they would be back for an encore.
