St Lundi delivers new single ‘Learn To Let Go’ today through Propeller Recordings

NEW EP ‘HEAVY WORDS’, OUT JULY 24TH

“With echoes of Chris Martin and Ben Howard, St. Lundi could quite quickly become your favourite, new emerging singer-songwriter this year.”Record Of The Day

A songwriter who’s beatific charms have already resulted in more than his fair share of viral moments, his work has clocked up millions of streams in just a few weeks… Aiming for beauty at every turn, St. Lundi transforms the simplest moment into something profound, all delivered with an emotional ache.” – CLASH

Since the release of his brilliant initial singles ‘You’ve Got The Wrong Guy’ and ‘Ruin’, which has since gone on to amass radio support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, as well as landing on numerous Spotify and Apple Music playlists, 22-year-old troubadour Archie Langley aka St Lundi has now returned to deliver his highly-anticipated new offering ‘Learn To Let Go’ on July 3rd through Propeller Recordings (Slotface, Dagny).

Lifted from his eagerly-awaited debut EP ‘Heavy Words’, which is due out on July 24th, ‘Learn To Let Go’ showcases more of that bold and sweeping piano-led sound we have grown to love him for. Mixing his bright and soaring voice with a progressive and slow-rising production, his newest release captures the euphoric majesty of his songwriting through a lens of warm and inviting melodies.

Speaking about the song’s inspiration, Archie explains, “I feel like sometimes when falling in love it’s natural to want to spend every minute with one another. But there comes a point in time where you need to take a step back and remember the world still exists around you. It can make you feel like you’re moving in the wrong direction for a moment but you know deep down you need to ‘Learn To Let Go’ for the relationship to last.”

Since the release of his sophomore single ‘Ruin’, St Lundi was one of a small number of up-and-coming new artists to feature on KYGO’s new album ‘Golden Hour’, which was released on May 29th, and also featured contributions from One Republic, Zara Larsson, Kim Petras, Whitney Houstson, Oh Wonder and more.

His featured album track titled ‘To Die For’ showcases St. Lundi’s prowess for writing effecting love songs, and has already amassed 5 million streams and seen his Spotify monthly listeners soar to over 1 million listeners.

His previous releases ‘You’ve Got The Wrong Guy’ and ‘Ruin’ have also featured on a number of official streaming playlists, including Spotify’s ‘Sad Songs’, ‘Easy’ and ‘New Pop UK’ and Apple Music’s ‘New Music Daily’ and ‘In My Room’. They have also been supported by Youtube channels Mahogany, Alexrainbird, Ethereal Music, Indievibes and many more.

At 21 years of age, having grown up on the little known English Channel outpost ‘Hayling Island’, Archie Langley found himself living with family, in and out of dead end jobs, whilst trying to build a name for himself as a singer-songwriter in the Portsmouth and Hampshire area.

One evening – with very little to his name – Archie went out to the local newsagent and instead of going home, he spontaneously bought a one-way train ticket to London. The next evening he played an open mic night where he met some new friends who offered him a couch as accommodation which soon became his home for the next 6 months whilst laying the foundations of a new life in the capital.

A poet at heart – with a bold voice and songwriting that draws comparisons to Chris Martin, Ben Howard and Damien Rice – Archie has now honed his craft, with a skill for scribing emotionally charged, metaphor laden songs about love and life. Conceived as a shape-shifting project – St Lundi encompasses collaborations with songwriters and musician friends that Archie has met on his journey.

St Lundi is now signed to Propeller, who have recently helped to launch many up and coming artists including Au/Ra, Declan J Donovan, Yungblud and manage Spotify top 300 streaming artist Seeb. This has led to Archie working with new collaborators that have seen success with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, JC Stewart and many others
