Take Today release ‘Divide’, the follow up single to ‘Freefall’ taken from the current EP ‘Visions’. The accompanying animated video delves into the darkness of mental health. OUT FRIDAY 3rd JULY!
“Divide touches on the subject of mental health, something that is becoming increasingly highlighted in our modern age, and particularly during the current events of lockdowns and self-isolation. The topic of asking for reassurance whilst also pushing people away is very prevalent throughout the song, making you feel divided from society. The line “I’ve got to stand up, confess my secrets, I’ve got no reason to hide the change, I’m losing my mind” highlights the point of accepting yourself for who you are and not changing for anyone else to try and fit into the mould that society has placed around people”.
In just over a year Take Today have soared onto the scene following Fireball’s Hottest Band final which earned them a support for Flogging Molly. This was to be the catalyst that changed the band forever, bringing in a new line-up and securing supports with the likes of Sleeping With Sirens and Dream State.
