Night two of Summer Nights kicked off in style with Liverpool’s own Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band. As soon as Michael stepped onto the stage, joined by the band, the crowd immediately engaged—clearly eager for what was to come. Their unique alternative indie sound instantly elevated the atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for the evening ahead.
Blending thoughtful lyrics with a rich, alternative rock vibe, their performance stood out as both energetic and intimate. It was a set full of heart and musical depth, showcasing the talent and charisma that make them a must-see live act.
If you haven’t caught them before, Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band are a band I’d highly recommend. They brought a dynamic and memorable start to the night—one that left the audience buzzing for more.
Next on the set list were Liverpool rock legends, The Lightning Seeds. As they stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, electric with anticipation. Wasting no time, the band launched into their opening number, instantly setting the tone for an unforgettable set.
With their signature sound, infectious energy, and undeniable rock ‘n’ roll spirit, The Lightning Seeds lit up the stage—practically lifting the roof off the tent. The highlight of the performance came when the crowd sang and danced along to their first hit, “Pure”—an uplifting anthem released in 1989. The atmosphere was euphoric, with fans clapping and cheering as the chorus soared across the venue.
They rounded off their set with the classic “The Life of Riley,” sending the crowd into a final wave of chants and cheers. It was a perfect ending from a truly “pure” rock ‘n’ roll band—timeless, energetic, and absolutely recommended for any music lover.
The final act of the night was the headliner—the legendary punk rock band Echo and the Bunnymen. They took to the stage amid flashing lights and electric vibes, as the crowd erupted in cheers, chants, and applause. It was a performance bursting with colour, energy, and atmosphere.
Playing a mix of their greatest hits, one standout moment was the audience singing along to nearly every song—most notably their number one hit “The Killing Moon.” The band fully engaged with the crowd, encouraging everyone to belt out the choruses. Another unforgettable highlight was the spectacular light show—an electrifying visual experience that perfectly complemented the music and created a deep sense of connection between the band and their fans.
If you love punk rock, you’ll love this band. Highly recommended.
