KiD RAiN has emerged as a major contender for the UK’s next major crossover pop artist, having exceeded 250 million video views plus 30 million streams as well as selling out his debut headline tour and Khloe Kardashian even sharing his music. Having spent the first part of 2023 plotting an even bigger year ahead, KiD RAiN now releases his new single ‘Half’ alongside its official video. The song has already picked up 500,000 views after he posted a teaser of the song on TikTok.

KiD RAiN’s enticing pop vocal brings plenty of laid-back charm to the instantly relatable ‘Half’. It’s a song about being in life’s in-betweens: when you’re no longer a kid, but don’t feel like an adult; when being single is fun but not as fulfilling as being in a relationship; and when you often feel lonely, but still need some time to yourself. But KiD RAiN realises he’s not alone as he sees, “Half of my friends picking up mortgages, and the other half picking up drugs.” It’s also a stage in which ambition is undermined by exhaustion, with the song’s earworm hook stating, “Half of me’s got big plans of moving to the city, but the other half just wants to sleep.”

‘Half’ was written and produced solely by KiD RAiN, and mixed with Will Reeves (Stormzy, Bree Runway, Olivia Dean).

KiD RAiN says, “I have no idea whether I’m a kid or whether I’m a grown up. I don’t feel like a grown up, but sometimes I find myself in bed at 9pm, watching come dine with me, with a face mask on, so maybe I am? This song is for everyone that feels like they’re in a limbo spot in their life, it won’t help you get out of it, but it might make you feel better xoxoxoxo”

Previous releases including ‘I Hope You Never Fall In Love Again’, ‘Say Yes’ and his take on ‘Accidentally In Love’ have seen KiD RAiN earn a succession of early career highlights, including strong chart positions at Spotify and Apple Music, a wealth of international New Music Friday features, and a BBC Introducing Track of the Week.

The charisma that shines within his songs and social media also translates to live shows. As well as his own headline tours, KiD RAiN has played arenas as guests to The Vamps (even joining them on stage to perform Demi Lovato’s verse during ‘Somebody To You’), completed another arena run as part of a major Nickelodeon event, and headlined a stage at The Great Escape. He started 2023 with a School Night show at The Old Blue Last.

KiD RAiN started songwriting and producing when he was just 12-years-old, and those talents remain a key component of his artist identity right through to the present day. Further honing his skills via sessions with Tim Woodcock (Little Mix), Jim Irvin (Lana Del Rey, YUNGBLUD), the Grammy-nominated Mitch Jones (Ed Sheeran), King Ed (Years & Years) and Ryan Lawrie (BTS), KiD RAiN recently signed a publishing deal with the renowned Peermusic.

Expect KiD RAiN to follow ‘Half’ with much more new music to come as the year unfolds.
