Emma & Jolie are set to release their second single ‘Cry For You’ on the 13th November, following a wildly popular rendition of the track during Song Suffragettes as part of Country Music Week’s Digital Edition.

LONDON, UK (6th November 2020) – UK pop-country duo Emma & Jolie have announced that their sophomore single ‘Cry For You’ will be released next Friday 13th November 2020. (Pre-save the single here). The release will follow a huge few months for the new duo, with a performance at C2C Festival’s Country Music Week under their belts, along with the release of their debut single that shot to the number one spot on the iTunes country chart and number thirty-two all genre charts, along with a feature on Apple Music’s Today’s Country and Country Wide playlists. This second single again sees the duo partner with long-time collaborator and producer Johnny Douglas revealing a completely new side to the duo’s sound.

The duo’s sophomore single was the result of another co-write in Nashville with fellow Song Suffragette, Lena Stone, during the duo’s first trip to Music City that was a formative part of Emma & Jolie’s journey. The write was one of the girls’ quickest writing sessions taking only about an hour to get out this raw, emotional ballad that speaks universally to the healing process post-breakup. Of the track, Emma & Jolie state, ‘Everything we write about has always stemmed from personal situations we’ve both been in. This song comes from a place of pain we have both experienced. The two of us, and a lot of people we know have felt this way after breaking up with somebody, and so we just want to say that if this is you we see you and you’re not alone, you can’t always shut it off because it’s so difficult. There’s also an element of frustration in the song, when you see your ex seemingly moving on no problem but you’re still finding it difficult to keep going. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that things can take a bit longer when you have a big heart and you love deeply. It’s okay to still cry for them.’

The track shifts gears in production, in comparison to their anthemic, fun summer track ‘I Don’t Need A Man,’ Douglas has created an emotional, yearning sound complete with a strings section that puts the duo’s stunning harmonies at the forefront of the track. A universally heart-breaking track, ‘Cry For You’ is set to become another instant hit for the quickly ascending duo.

Modern pop-country duo, Emma & Jolie comprises of Emma Walker and Jolie Harvey. The duo met back in 2015 at music college and have been singing together ever since. Influenced by the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift, the young duo bring together a mix of storytelling and modern country with sensational harmonies. For Emma & Jolie, it has always been country music, having grown up on Dolly Parton and the Dixie Chicks, but their sound was fully cemented by their first trip to Nashville last year prior to signing with Triple Fret Entertainment, when they wrote with the likes of Sammy Arriaga, Lena Stone and Cole Campbell. Having made their Nashville debut at Song Suffragettes, the duo released their debut single ‘I Don’t Need A Man’ this summer (a co-write with Emily Hackett) that debuted at #1 on the UK iTunes country charts, along with support from Apple Music and Country Hits radio. The duo are signed to Triple Fret Entertainment.
