THE SNUTS RELEASE BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘MOTHERLANDS’ – OUT NOW
The Snuts have released their brand new single ‘Motherlands’, out now via their own label Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group. Watch the lyric video here.
The release was marked with a special, one-off hometown show at Bathgate’s Regal Theatre last night, this offered fans a rare chance to see the band up close where it all
began.
Speaking on the new single, frontman Jack Cochrane says:
“ ‘Motherlands’ is a track that explores the gravitational pull of home. It was written in the aftermath of a transitional period in my life, moving from the city back home. There’s something cathartic and healing about returning to the place you once tried to escape from, and ‘Motherlands’ captures the warmth and brightness within that familiarity.”
The release follows the band’s recent single ‘Summer Rain’, their first new music since 2024 and the opening chapter of their forthcoming fourth album, due later this year.
Ahead of the Bathgate show, a QR code-led ticket ballot launched earlier this week was met with overwhelming demand, with 14,058 tickets applied for at the 400-capacity venue. All proceeds are being donated to Music Broth, a Glasgow-based charity providing access to musical instruments and tuition for young people in some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged communities.
The initiative reflects the band’s ongoing commitment to supporting their local community, helping remove financial barriers to music education while also spotlighting the growing number of grassroots venues facing closure.
