St. Lundi’s previous single ‘Following My Heart’ kept his momentum on a high ahead of the September 20th release of his debut album ‘The Island’. Fresh support in the shape of a playlist at Radio 2 as well as further support from Scott Mills at Radio 2 and Track of the Week at BBC Introducing added to a run of early career accomplishments, which have included 120 million+ streams as well as high profile collabs with Kygo and Seeb.

Early teasers for ‘Say So’ have already made it a future fan favourite, and that excitement is justified by the finished version. A songwriter with a growing renown for looking inwards and holding nothing back as he expresses his emotions, St. Lundi delivers a moment of dramatic piano-pop balladeering defined by mountainous melodies, tender emotions and a voice that can capture every feeling he expresses. On first listen you might think ‘Say So’ is a song about the frailty of love and you’d be right… but probably not in the way you had perceived.

As St. Lundi explains, “I wrote ‘Say So’ about my relationship with my father. We’d not spoken for nearly five years after falling out and no matter what I tried to do, nothing could replace our relationship. One day I realised maybe he’s not so good at talking because he never really had a father. So I reached out… and ever since we’ve been closer than ever. This song is there to encourage people to tell the ones they love that they love them.”

St. Lundi wrote ‘Say So’ with Josefine Riddell, Matt James (Tom Gregory) and Andre Nookadu (The Chainsmokers), with the latter pair producing the track.

The ‘Say So’ video takes a literal interpretation of St. Lundi’s lyrical metaphors and places the action on a beach, where he delivers every line with the intensity that he must have felt when writing the song. And its final shot presents a hopeful ending: taking the first step to turning things around is as simple as picking up a phone. Watch it HERE.

‘Say So’ is the final song on St. Lundi’s upcoming debut album ‘The Island’ and ends an autobiographical collection of songs on a high. Each track is a sonic postcard of a moment in his barely believable life story. One day a 21-year-old St. Lundi was working in a petrol station on Hayling Island, near Portsmouth, and dreaming of a bigger life. Twenty-four hours later he was on a train to London with a bag of clothes, a guitar and enough money to get him through the next few days. He soon chanced upon a temporary home living with twenty Australian backpackers while working out how to get a music career under way. Dreams may come true, but they don’t come easy: he stayed there for three years, and it has taken another four for his debut album to be released.

‘The Island’ is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE.

St. Lundi is currently embarking upon another dream moment as he plays to a total of 60,000 people across three shows with Take That on a bill that also features Olly Murs. He will then celebrate the release of ‘The Island’ by playing an intimate solo European pop-up headline tour, with each venue being revealed nearer the time – all shows are sold out. He has also announced a full band UK and European headline tour which begins late October – tickets are now available HERE.
