THE SHERLOCKS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM ‘EVERYTHING MUST MAKE SENSE!’ TO BE RELEASED
ON FEBRUARY 21ST – PRE-ORDER / PRE-SAVE HERE
FEATURING THE NEW SINGLE ‘MAN ON THE LOOSE’
Has the ‘People Like You & Me’ era been the best chapter yet in The Sherlocks’ story? You’d better believe it. The album instantly became the highest charting record of their career to date when it hit #4, while fresh highlights have continued into 2024 with what the Sheffield Star described as “an electrifying homecoming” headline show in front of 7500 fans at Don Valley Bowl, a last minute main stage set at Victorious, and big European shows as guests to Keane.
But as one era closes, a new future opens up with the news that The Sherlocks will release their new album ‘It Must Make Sense!’ on February 21st. They launch the album alongside the new single ‘Man on the Loose’ – out now.
Whether you’re talking creatively or with a constantly packed schedule, The Sherlocks are not a band to sit still. And ‘Everything Must Make Sense!’ represents a fresh step forward for the quartet, with a set that takes their indie-rock roots as the launchpad for an accomplished new collection that takes in driving synth-rock energy, ragged melodic rock ‘n’ roll, a moment of acoustic introspection, and big riffs and bigger beats – all delivered with their finest musicianship so far.
The Sherlocks recorded the album with producer David Radhad-Jones after they enjoyed collaborating with him on ‘Remember All The Girls’ from the ‘People Like You & Me’ album.
Vocalist/guitarist Kiaran Crook says, “This album feels different to any other album we’ve done before. I know it’s cliché, but it’s true, the songs are so varied. I feel like we’re at a point where we’re so comfortable in our own identity that we can allow ourselves to try ideas and not be afraid of the outcome as it’s inevitably gonna end up sounding like us. I feel like it’s an album the fans will really get behind when they finally hear and certainly one that’s going to surprise a lot of people. Get ready.”
Drummer Brandon Crook adds, “I had a great time recording the album with David, it was a pleasure to work with someone so full of ideas, professional and zero ego. From a personal point of view on the drums it was definitely the most demanding album I’ve ever recorded. I was pushed to new heights, but I’m so glad as the record sounds incredible! The fans are going to be blown away. A lot of bands have to say their new album is the best, but this really is our best album to date. We are getting stronger and stronger every album. It’s an exciting time for the band! Can’t wait to get on the road and play these songs live.”
Joining the recent ‘Death of Me’ in previewing the album, The Sherlocks today unleash ‘Man On The Loose’. It sees the band take a maximalist approach to create an arena-ready anthem which elevates every angle of their sound, from thumping rhythms to a guitar solo that evokes timeless classic rock and synths which soar and sparkle in every moment.
Kiaran continues: “Every album you always get a tune where it feels like the one. It’s an exciting feeling, it feels like you’ve stumbled across something really special. For me, ‘Man on the Loose’ is definitely that tune. From when we first started throwing that song around the practice room it had a real stomping attitude to it. The verses are pure aggression and driving and then when the chorus kicks in it turns into a pure anthem. One thing I really love is the slide guitar which came about by chance in the studio. It’s a mega tune!”
