PRAISE FOR WAKE UP, SHUT UP, WORK
“An explosion of sound accompanied by lyrics designed to wake your mind right up; MMATSU deserve to go stratospheric with this release” VIVE LE ROCK MAGAZINE 10/10
“Hewn from the human heart and soul and sung by someone that makes you feel their emotions as if they were your own. This could and should be the album that elevates MMATSU from punk heroes to household names” DEVOLUTION MAGAZINE
“Ultimately, what truly sets Wake Up, Shut Up, Work apart is the unflinching honesty; in a world grappling with political unrest, environmental concerns and social injustices, this album serves as both a rallying cry and a comforting embrace” POWERPLAY MAGAZINE 8/10
“It’s here, and what a glorious experience it is. There really is no one else like this band, as they fuse punk, ska and rock perfectly with horn sections, melodies, big guitars and a seething anger at all the absolute pricks out there. Yeah, we’ve all thought it but this lot shout about it” FIREWORKS MAGAZINE
“Arguably one of the greatest live acts the UK has ever produced … and no one can do sarcasm, anger and humour in a lyric as well as Millie. This will be, deservedly, a contender for Album of the Year in so many publications” WITH JUST A HINT OF MAYHEM
“Whether it’s the liberating joyfulness and cathartic energy of their live shows or the sincerity and openness of their music and lyricism, there’s no denying that the world needs MMATSU now more than ever” FANGRRRL
“For eternity, well maybe a few decades, bands and songwriters have notoriously struggled with that dreaded, difficult second album. It appears Millie Manders and The Shutup didn’t receive that particular memo” BAD TATTOO
Speaking about the new album, Millie Manders says:
“I can’t quite believe the release is finally here! We are all bursting to find out what people think of this new collection of tracks, and even more excited to play them live on tour. We truly hope everyone will enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed creating them.
“Our second album has been so much more collaborative as a band, and it’s been a wonderful process in terms of expansion and evolution of our sound. We are all so proud of what we have achieved, and we all hope that Wake Up, Shut Up, Work has a similarly warm reception to Telling Truths, Breaking Ties now that it’s released into the world.”
