Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Beattie has been confirmed to join the line-up for Bowie: Live on the Loch, the two-day charity celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the passing of one of the greatest artists who ever lived.
Fresh from performing at the OVO Hydro Arena’s FIFA World Cup fanzone in advance of
Wednesday’s crucial Scotland v Brazil game, Callum will perform an intimate acoustic set at Bowie: Live On the Loch, as well as songs with the legends of Bowie’s band, the line-up of greats who backed him for his famous Glastonbury appearance in 2000.
On 7 and 8 November 2026, Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond will host the event, a two-day charity celebration in aid of Save the Children, featuring an extraordinary reunion of Bowie’s original band members across two evenings of live performance, rare never-before-seen film footage, an extensive photography exhibition and a world-class dining experience, culminating in a spectacular charity guitar auction and a globally livestreamed concert.
Reflecting on his inclusion in the line-up, Callum Beattie says: “Being asked to play with this band is one of the greatest honours of my life. If it wasn’t for Bowie, there’s no way I’d be a singer or a songwriter. My dad had a “magic cupboard” that was filled with vinyl and Bowie was at the forefront of that. It’s an incredible privilege to share the stage with such legends. I just hope I can do the songs justice.”
Beattie, 35, grew up in Musselburgh and has spent the past decade gigging relentlessly to become one of Scotland’s most beloved songwriters, an ascent marked by his first arena headline show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro last November. He will perform at Edinburgh Castle in July. He has released three albums – People Like Us (2020), Vandals (2023) and his latest, Indi
– the first on which he has truly found his own voice, drawing on the influence of Bruce
Springsteen, Arcade Fire and The War on Drugs filtered through the life of a working-class Scot. Beattie started busking at the Edinburgh Festival aged 15 and spent eight years playing pubs before moving to London to pursue a record deal. His love of Bowie traces back to his father’s record collection, and to a teenage road trip to see The Who at Hyde Park that convinced him music was his life’s calling.
The weekend will serve as a powerful continuation of Bowie’s philanthropic legacy and his profound connection to Scotland. He had many seminal moments in the country: from the birth of his iconic Ziggy Stardust persona, to his legendary 1997 performance at the Barrowlands in Glasgow. The event will coincide with the 60th anniversary of Bowie’s first show in Scotland on 3rd April 1965 at the Palais in Dundee as David Bowie & The Buzz, supporting Johnny Kidd & The Pirates.
A Weekend Immersed in the World of Bowie
The celebration begins on Saturday 7 November with an exclusive black-tie gala dinner set within Cameron House, prepared by Michelin-starred chef Graeme Cheevers of Glasgow’s renowned Unalome. The centrepiece of the evening will be Regent Sounds Presents: Earl Slick’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Guitar Auction. Hosted by Bowie’s longest-serving guitarist and the legendary London guitar shop – the auction will feature a once-in-a-lifetime collection of priceless, signed, collector-grade guitars. Confirmed contributors already include rock legends Peter Frampton and Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), with further names to be announced.
On Sunday, 8 November, a once-in-a-lifetime live show will see Earl Slick joined on stage by past members of David Bowie’s band, including Mike Garson, Mark Plati, Sterling Campbell and Gail Ann Dorsey, alongside Callum Beattie and other special guest performers. Woven throughout the weekend’s music and storytelling will be a screening of rare, never-before-seen film footage of Bowie and a curated photography exhibition showcasing rare and iconic imagery hosted within Cameron House’s cinema and event spaces.
Anchoring Sunday’s live performance will be a house band comprising legends who helped define David Bowie’s sound across five decades, reuniting the band that played Bowie’s historic Glastonbury 2000 headline set, with Callum Beattie joining them on stage.
Bowie: Live on the Loch echoes the historic impact of his 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden – also held in aid of Save the Children – bringing that enduring legacy to one of the world’s most breathtaking settings. Cameron House, a celebrated five-star luxury resort set within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, serves as the perfect home for an event of this scale and ambition. Funds for Save the Children will be raised through ticket sales, the charity auction, exclusive event merchandise, live pledge moments and the global livestream. The money raised will help children all around the world, including the UK, providing children with access to vital education, healthcare and protection.

Bowie himself was a supporter of Save The Children, famously giving the proceeds of his 50th birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden in 1997 to the charity. An all-star cast for the show included Frank Black, The Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth, Robert Smith, Lou Reed and Billy Corgan.

The House band:
- Earl Slick (Guitar): The razor-sharp sonic force who first joined Bowie for the 1974
Diamond Dogs tour. Slick’s masterful, cutting guitar work defined the eras of Young Americans and Station to Station and he remained a trusted collaborator decades later, returning for modern masterpieces like Heathen, Reality, and Bowie’s acclaimed 2013 comeback album, The Next Day.
- Mike Garson (Piano/Keyboards): Bowie’s longest-serving band member, whose avant-garde, jazz-infused piano solo on the title track of Aladdin Sane remains one of rock’s most iconic instrumental moments. Garson was a musical constant throughout Bowie’s career, playing on over a dozen albums and traversing the globe from the final days of the Ziggy Stardust tour to the triumphant 2003/2004 A Reality Tour.
- Gail Ann Dorsey (Bass/Vocals): The powerhouse bassist and striking vocalist who anchored Bowie’s live band from 1995 until his final concerts. A fan favourite, Dorsey is immortalised by her spine-tingling vocal duets with Bowie on “Under Pressure,” most notably during his legendary, career-defining headline set at Glastonbury 2000.
- Mark Plati (Guitar/Bass/Musical Director): A pivotal creative collaborator during Bowie’s late ’90s and early 2000s renaissance. As co-producer, musical director, and multi-instrumentalist, Plati was instrumental to the dense, modern soundscapes of Earthling, the long-lost Toy album, and the band’s historic, critically lauded Glastonbury 2000 performance.
- Sterling Campbell (Drums): The rhythmic engine room of Bowie’s later career. First joining the fold in the early ’90s, Campbell provided the dynamic, driving beats for critically acclaimed albums including Outside, Heathen, Reality, and The Next Day, while powering the band through Bowie’s final monumental global tours.
- Callum Beattie (Vocals): Scottish singer-songwriter from Musselburgh, who built a devoted following over a decade of relentless gigging before headlining his first arena show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro this October. Now on his third album, Indi, Beattie blends the influence of Bruce Springsteen and Arcade Fire with the voice of a working-class Scot, having started out busking at the Edinburgh Festival aged 15.
