Past and Present World Tour
With his latest album ‘Dear Life’ continuing to receive rave reviews and a string of sold-out dates—including this highly anticipated Glasgow show and the iconic Royal Albert Hall—David Gray’s Past and Present world tour has been, and continues to be, nothing short of a triumph.
Supporting Gray on the UK and European legs of the tour is Talia Rae, who later joined him for ‘Plus & Minus’, while the US leg will welcome Sierra Spirit.
The Armadillo was packed as Talia Rae took the stage, a lone figure against the vast backdrop. Accompanied by a delicate piano arrangement, her voice captivated the audience, but it was her stirring rendition of ‘Purple Rain’ that truly stole the spotlight, with many in the crowd singing along in tribute to the legendary Prince.
A short interval later, the main event began. David Gray, armed with an acoustic guitar, eased into his set with a slow, deliberate opening. His transition to the piano signalled the arrival of Talia Rae once more, their performance of ‘Plus & Minus’ met with thunderous applause.
Gray’s monumental setlist, paired with a polished and emotive performance, left no doubt as to why he continues to sell out arenas worldwide. His signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and masterful musicianship made for an unforgettable evening.
His biggest songs like ‘Babylon’ and ‘Sail Away’ dove tailed perfectly with some lesser known songs and the odd cover version thrown in for good measure
Glasgow now eagerly awaits his return in May for what promises to be yet another magical night.
