19-year-old Abbie Gordon continues her very exciting year with the release of new single ‘Wet Rain’ on Friday 15th May. The song captures the rush of infatuation felt for the first time, through Abbie’s always witty pop prism and The Nocturns’ lush, timeless production.

“When I started making music, I’d never really experienced a relationship first-hand. So whenever I wrote love songs, they were usually inspired by imagined situations, stories from friends, or romances I’d seen on TV. Wet Rain is the first song I wrote that comes from a completely real place. It’s about the excitement and infatuation that come with the beginning of a new relationship, those intense emotions, constant thoughts about one person, and the feeling that you may have finally found ‘the one.’ Writing this song felt far more personal and honest than anything I’d created before, because for the first time I wasn’t telling someone else’s story, I was telling my own.”

Abbie’s glistening vocals and whip-smart lyricism turn her generation’s complex toils into a real-time diary of growing up disgracefully. Through her signature knockout one-liners and anthemic melody lines, Abbie documents her feelings and mis-steps, learning (or not) as she goes. Her cool-girl fables call out the b.s. with each chunky-booted step.

Live, Abbie has paid dues opening for fast-rising contemporaries like Kerr Mercer on tour and Calum Bowie at the Barrowland Ballroom, with headline shows at Glasgow’s Poetry Club and King Tut’s increasing the buzz.

She plays the BBC Introducing Stage at Glasgow’s TRNSMT festival on 21st June and London for the first time on 15th July as special guest to Seattle pop singer songwriter Avery Cochrane.
