PLAY BIGGEST HEADLINE SHOW TO DATE AT ISLINGTON ASSEMBLY HALL
ON NOVEMBER 20TH – LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE

GeeJay’s take on soul-pop brims with world class vocals, bright melodies and uplifting summery rhythms – all set to lyrics which often celebrate the positive aspects of day-to-day life. It has earned them a strong grassroots following, with 60 million streams and 600,000 monthly listeners, while also building tastemaker support with airplay stretching across Radio 1, Radio 2, 1XTRA, Apple Music 1 and BBC Radio London alongside further praise from Clash and The Observer. Now the duo – vocalist Gina Jane and multi-instrumentalist Jay Lobo – share their new single ‘My Baby’. Listen HERE.
‘My Baby’ is a song that surges with emotion, especially with the pure emotional feeling and expression that comes from Gina Jane’s already remarkable voice. It’s a simple, stripped-back, lullaby-esque piano melody accompanied by a luscious, affecting string arrangement and powerful lyrics: “No matter your age, no matter the year, no matter the times that we are living through… I’ll be with you, whatever you do.”
The song’s personal significance is heightened by its timing – the couple have just welcomed their second child into the world.
Gina Jane says, “‘My Baby’ was written as a love letter to our daughters, so it’s really close to my heart. It’s about that deep connection you have with your child – the kind of love that sits in your bones, that doesn’t fade no matter how old they get or what life throws at you. It’s a song about presence, protection, and the kind of love that quietly endures through every stage of life.”
‘My Baby’ was entirely written and produced by GeeJay.
‘My Baby’ and the summer singles ‘My Rock’ and ‘Young Girl’ will all feature on GeeJay’s second album ‘9 Months 3 Days’ which will follow early in 2026.
The natural good vibes of GeeJay reflect the duo’s back story. The two musicians and kindred spirits first met while working at the Music & Beans cafe in Haringey, when a random rota error accidentally scheduled them on the same shift. The staff would end the day with drinks and jam sessions in the space between the cafe, leading the pair to discover their shared musical connection and into a relationship.
Still entirely independent, GeeJay’s early releases such as ‘Flowers’ and ‘Stronger’ resulted in millions of streams, while famous fan Fearne Cotton helped them reach a broader audience by including them in her ‘Happy Place’ compilation album alongside big names like Sam Fender and Emeli Sandé. These moments paved the way for the release of their debut album, ‘What’s the Sun Without the Rain?’, in 2024. Their word-of-mouth following is still growing, resulting in their biggest headline show far at the Islington Assembly Hall on November 20th. Tickets are available HERE.
