Following Scottish Music Network’s 2024 feature on Bottle Rockets’ “Video Call”, the Glasgow indie four-piece return with news of their debut EP “father’s daughter”, arriving this May.
The EP’s title track drops March 6, marking a creative evolution for the band. While retaining the emotional immediacy highlighted in your previous coverage, “father’s daughter” introduces a hook-driven, cinematic indie rock sound with hazy shoegaze textures and Scottish alt-pop influences.
Since your feature, Bottle Rockets have continued to grow momentum, winning “BBC Introducing’s Scottish Act of the Year 2024” and “Best Alt/Rock at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2023”. They have sold out King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and performed at TRNSMT, Belladrum, Tenement Trail, Reading & Leeds Festival, and Spain’s Fira Trovam, with support from BBC Introducing Scotland, BBC Radio 1, and Amazing Radio (UK & US). The band now reach 20,000+ monthly Spotify listeners.
Across four tracks, father’s daughter explores identity, expectation, and transformation, marking the band’s most assured and expansive songwriting to date.
Live Dates will be announced soon
