Legendary music producer Trevor Horn has added extra dates to his UK tour in December.
Trevor Horn & His Band will now play additional tour dates in Leamington Spa, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Cardiff, taking the total number of shows to ten.
As one of this generation’s most decorated producers, Trevor Horn is a true giant in the music industry. After forming The Buggles and recording the chart topping 1979 hit ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’, Horn went on to produce some of the most recognizable anthems that defined the Eighties, including ABC’s ‘Lexicon of Love’, ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ by Yes, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s number one hits ‘Relax’, ‘Two Tribes’ and ‘The Power of Love’.
Known as ‘the man who invented the eighties’, Horn also produced hits for Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Barry Manilow, Cher, Boyzone, 10cc, John Legend, Lisa Stansfield, and Robbie Williams, altogether earning him three Brit Awards for Best British Producer, three Producer of the Year awards, five Ivor Novello Awards, two 2 Grammy Awards for Yes’ ‘90215’ and Seal’s ‘Kiss From a Rose’, and the 2014 Music Producer Guild (MPG) Award.
Trevor Horn & His Band evolved from a 2006 project called The Producers, featuring Horn (bass, vocals) and fellow producers Steve Lipson (guitar) and Chris Braide (keyboards and vocals), alongside former 10cc star Lol Creme (guitar and vocals) and Ash Soan (drums), with the idea being to get out of the recording studio in order to play live shows together.
The band officially became known as Trevor Horn & His Band in 2016, featuring Horn and Creme with an ever-evolving cast of guest musicians, serving as a live showcase celebrating the era-defining body of work that Horn wrote, played on or produced.
Looking ahead to the tour, Horn said, “All the songs we play were Number 1 records, so that gives us a pretty formidable repertoire. These songs mean a lot to people, and we play them with precision and authenticity. Plus, we have Lol Crème (from 10cc) in the band; what more could you want?”
