Rachel Jack Debut Single – Nowhere

Hailing from the North East of Scotland, Rachel Jack is one of the most exciting emerging singer-songwriters in Scotland. Winner of the University of the West of Scotland’s inaugural Paolo Nutini Songwriting Scholarship, her debut EP ‘The Calgary Tapes’ is an acoustic odyssey, showcasing her raw vocal talent and lyrical craft.

Recorded at the enchanting An Tobar Studios on the Isle of Mull by Gordon
MacLean, the 5-track EP is as introspective as it is up-lifting.

First single ‘Nowhere’ is a harmoniously rendered narration of her journey into music. Following a lengthy corporate career, Rachel made the decision to commit to her passion full-time. Exploring the world – and her home country – led Rachel to unique places and people that inspired her creativity and allowed her to develop her sound. Influenced by the likes of First Aid Kit, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Lana Del Rey, Rachel’s folky style, layered harmonies, and honest storytelling create a soothing mix of reverie and reality that compels the listener.

The EP currently serves as the soundtrack to her popular blog, which recants her journey so far. 2020 is set to be busy for the up-and-coming artist, with a second EP already in the works and due for release later in the year.
