Listen to a new track from pianist, producer and composer John Carroll Kirby “By The Sea”. This is the second track to be released from his upcoming album My Garden, his Stones Throw debut, out 24th April 2020.
“By The Sea” is a breezy fantasy inspired by the stunning Tamarama Beach, Sydney, where Kirby recorded the song — the only piece on My Garden he recorded outside his downtown L.A. studio. With it comes a visualizer from Michael Flanagan, a serene kaleidoscope of beach and ocean landscapes to the rhythm of John Carroll Kirby’s musical imaginings.
My Garden, which was written, recorded and produced entirely by Kirby, is a pure distillation of his sound — soulful, spiritual, and evocative. Demonstrating perfectly why Kirby is the go-to collaborator for artists ranging from experimental auteurs Bat for Lashes and Connan Mockasin to pop megastars Harry Styles and Kali Uchis, and R&B innovators Solange and Frank Ocean, My Garden is also a testament to the clarity and singularity of Kirby’s vision.
