With their excellent performance, the band received a warm welcome as they began their set with Too Soon. As the crowds began to gather around the front of the main stage, Crawlers played an outstanding set, setting the tone for the rest of the festival. Lucia & The Best Boys treated their fans to an unforgettable performance on the King Tuts Stage. The Scottish singer-songwriter, Lucia, and her band captivated the audience with their brooding and heartfelt music that was backed by an expanding troupe of musicians on stage. Lucia was undoubtedly the star of the show, showcasing her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence that left fans in awe.

One of the most exciting aspects of the performance was the fact that Lucia & The Best Boys played material from their eagerly anticipated debut album, ‘Burning Castles.’ This set expectations even higher for the upcoming album, which fans are eagerly anticipating. Indie-punk band Pale Waves unleashed their raw energy and catchy singalongs on the Main Stage, leaving the festivalgoers spellbound. Baron-Gracie’s vocals were at their best, reaching soaring highs and haunting lows, and her captivating stage presence didn’t falter for a moment.

One of the highlights of the performance was “She’s My Religion”, a fan favourite from their 2021 album “Who Am I?”. The crowd was ecstatic and sang along to every word, showcasing the band’s connection with their fans. The set concluded with an explosive rendition of their hit single “There’s a Honey”, leaving the crowd in a state of euphoria.

The Dream Wife took the stage at King Tut’s. The three-piece band from Brighton and London, consisting of Rakel Mjöll, Alice Go, and Bella Podpadec, were greeted with a large crowd in front of the stage.

Combining elements of pop and punk, Dream Wife‘s energetic performance left the crowd buzzing with excitement. From the infectious “Social Lubrication” to the rebellious “Hot (Don’t Date A Musician),” the band’s setlist was a perfect blend of their unique sound and fierce stage presence.

Rakel’s commanding vocals and Alice and Bella’s electrifying guitar riffs kept the audience enthralled as they played hits like “F.U.U.” and “Hasta la Vista.” Dream Wife’s songs, like “Orbit” and “Somebody,” were delivered with raw power and emotive intensity that spoke to the collective experience of the audience.

Bob Vylan is a rising sensation in the world of punk infused hip hop with a strong political voice. Boasting a similar political persuasion as the venue, Bob Vylan is using his platform to challenge racism and social injustice in a unique and powerful way.

As he takes to the stage sporting a kilt, the audience is treated to an all too brief but unforgettable performance characterised by raw energetic power, laced with politics and humour. His music is a unique blend of punk rock and hip hop, a style that he has been perfecting over the years and that has earned him a spot on the Northern Line’s roster.

Bob Vylan is known for his politically charged music that speaks to the social injustices plaguing society. His latest single, “I Heard You Want Your Country Back,” is a powerful anthem that draws attention to the rising tide of racism and xenophobia in the UK. The track, which features on his latest EP, “CSGB (Cops Shot George Bush),” is a thought-provoking piece that challenges the status quo and encourages listeners to resist the oppressive forces that seek to divide us.

In addition to “I Heard You Want Your Country Back,” Bob Vylan has released other hits such as “We Live Here,” “Pretty Songs,” and “Wicked & Bad.” These songs, like most of his work, are steeped in social commentary aimed at inspiring positive change in society. However, Ashnikko‘s appeal goes beyond just her music. She is also known for her unique visual image, which was on full display during her Glasgow show. With her trademark shock of blue hair, mutant cavewoman dress sense, and eye-catching stage decoration and backdrops, Ashnikko’s performance was a feast for the eyes as well as the ears. Her dancers added to the spectacle, and the entire show was a testament to Ashnikko’s creativity and artistic vision.

The Kooks are an English indie rock band who are no strangers to the TRNSMT stage. Comprising Luke Pritchard on vocals and rhythm guitar, Hugh Harris on lead guitar, synthesiser, and bass, and Alexis Nunez on drums, The Kooks delivered a memorable set, featuring some of their greatest hits and more.

The audience was taken on a journey through The Kooks‘ discography, with popular tracks like “Always Where I Need to Be,” “See the World,” and “Sofa Song” igniting the crowd’s energy. The band also performed some of their widely acclaimed songs, including “Ooh La,” “She Moves in Her Own Way,” “Bad Habit,” and “Westside,” which were met with a chorus of cheers and applause.

The Kooks‘ setlist was indeed remarkable, with songs like “Forgive & Forget,” “Closer,” “Seaside,” “Junk of the Heart (Happy),” “Down,” “Around Town,” and the iconic “Nave” showcasing the band’s remarkable musical prowess and a talent for creating timeless music. The Kooks‘ performance at TRNSMT was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the festival, leaving the audience in awe and proving once again why they are a must-watch band.

The Amazons’ captivating energy during their performance at Glasgow’s illustrious King Tuts venue could not help but draw people in. Even with their more recent material, the band manages to inject a healthy dose of rawness into their set, roughing up the smoother aspects that may have crept into their sound. This juxtaposition of the old and the new creates a dynamic and invigorating live experience, ensuring that their audience is captivated from the first chord.

The Amazons captivate the audience with their powerful stage presence and contagious enthusiasm under the direction of charismatic vocalist Matt Thomson. Tom Clarke, the lead vocalist and guitarist, along with his bandmates Andy Hopkins on bass guitar and Liam Watts on drums, delivered an electrifying performance that had the crowd hooked from start to finish.

The setlist featured some of The Enemy‘s most notable tracks, including the anthemic “Away From Here” and the rebellious “Had Enough”. These songs perfectly encapsulated the band’s message of defiance and disillusionment with their surroundings. The title track, ‘We’ll Live and Die in These Towns, served as a powerful testament to the band’s loyalty and love for their hometown, while “You’re Not Alone” struck a chord with its uplifting lyrics and infectious melodies.

“40 Days & 40 Nights” showcased The Enemy‘s ability to combine catchy hooks with insightful lyrics, highlighting their versatility as musicians. The crowd was enthralled as the band expertly executed crowd favourites like ‘Out of the Black’, ‘Come on Over’, ‘Boilermaker’, ‘Lights Out’, ‘Mountains at Midnight’, ‘Trouble’s Coming’, ‘Typhoons’, ‘Loose Change’, and ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’.

Royal Blood’s performance at the concert was evidence of their commitment to their craft and their unwavering desire to put on an unforgettable live show. The energy emanating from the stage was infectious, captivating the audience and forging an unbreakable connection between performer and spectator. As the band worked their way through their setlist, they flawlessly executed each song with a fervour that left the crowd in awe. The band members, lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price, showcased their exceptional skills and charismatic stage presence, captivating the enthusiastic crowd from the very first note.

Introducing their newer tracks, such as “Welcome to the DCC” and “Futureproof,” Nothing But Thieves received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience. The energy in the venue only intensified as the familiar sounds of their hit song “Trip Switch” filled the air, taking the concert to another level. Conor Mason’s soulful and powerful vocals combined with the band’s masterful instrumentation created an electric atmosphere that resonated throughout the entire performance.

Throughout the evening, Nothing But Thieves treated the Glasgow crowd to a diverse range of their renowned songs. As the festival neared its conclusion, lead vocalist and principal songwriter Matty Healy made a grand entrance in a wheelie bin, donning a lab coat, brown trousers, and glasses. Some may question the eccentricity of his outfit, but for Healy and The 1975, it was all part of their enigmatic aura.

The stage lit up as the band kicked off their set with an explosive performance of “Looking for Somebody.” The energy emanating from the crowd was palpable, as the infectious beats and catchy melodies captivated everyone in attendance. It was clear that The 1975 had mastered the art of engaging their audience, drawing them into their musical journey filled with surprises at every turn.

As the night progressed, The 1975 showcased their versatility, effortlessly transitioning from the dance-infused anthem of “Love Me,” channelling the spirit of Prince and James Brown, to the heartfelt and introspective melodies of “Oh Caroline, I’m in Love With You.” The band’s ability to seamlessly shift genres and moods left the audience in awe, never quite knowing what to expect next.

Hits like “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know),” “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME,” and “A Change of Heart” had the crowd dancing and singing along, their infectious enthusiasm spreading throughout the festival grounds. The band’s emotional depth was evident in soul-stirring tracks like “Somebody Else” and “The Sound,” which tugged at heartstrings and left a profound impact on all who listened.

Throughout their set, Healy’s onstage demeanour was captivating, from reclining in an armchair, sipping red wine, and occasionally taking a swig from a hip flask, to his charismatic presence as he delivered each lyric with passion and conviction. The combination of his magnetic persona and the band’s undeniable musical talent created an experience that was nothing short of mesmerising.

The 1975 didn’t shy away from exploring controversial themes, with songs like “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” addressing addiction and “Give Yourself a Try” touching on mental health. These thought-provoking lyrics served as a reminder that music can be a powerful vehicle for self-expression and a catalyst for change.

As the night drew to a close, The 1975 left the stage, but their impact lingered in the hearts and minds of everyone lucky enough to witness their TRNSMT Festival performance.
