DMA’s have released the PRBITAL REMIX of their single LIFE IS A GAME OF CHANGING. The legendary electronic duo has put their unique spin on this euphoric track, resulting in an anthemic techno-inspired dancefloor filler.
“It was great fun remixing DMA’S Life Is a Game of Changing and it was really nice to have such a great vocal to work with. We don’t take on a lot of remixes but with this one, we felt we could really add our Orbital DNA to DMA’S. We’re really looking forward to playing it out in our DJ sets this year.” ORBITAL
Inspired by the rave scene of the early 90s, LIFE IS A GAME OF CHANGING is the second single from DMA’S recently announced third studio album, THE GLOW, to be released on 24 April.
One aspect of the track came from an old demo recorded above the Botany Bay Hotel while Johnny and Mason were living upstairs. After not being finished, or finding a place on previous records, the band used it in their performance as an entrance song. Johnny then came back to the bones of the track whilst living in Edinburgh and fleshed out the idea, before bringing it back to Mason and Tommy to add their parts and finish it as a song.
Sitting in contrast to the song’s addictive and repetitive structure, LIFE IS A GAME OF CHANGING is about humanity’s struggle to be adaptable, as creatures who are fundamentally resistant to change. Breaking away from the minimalist electronica movement, the song features unapologetically busy beats, a driving 4/4 pace and an adrenaline-fuelled chorus showcasing Tommy O’Dell’s signature euphoric vocals.
Produced and mixed by Stuart Price [Madonna, The Killers, New Order] LIFE IS A GAME OF CHANGING follows SILVER, the first release from THE GLOW. SILVER is the band’s fastest streaming song to date, already generating over 6 million streams, and was playlisted for more than 3 months at UK radio.
2019 saw the Sydney natives – alongside recording THE GLOW – play sold out shows across the UK and Ireland, support Liam Gallagher on his UK arena tour and sell 5,000 tickets to their March 2020 London Brixton Academy show in less than 24 hours. This year, the band will play Manchester’s Sounds of The City festival, headlining the 8,000 capacity Castlefield Bowl – with tickets selling out in less than two hours – and embarking on their May UK album tour. They will also headline Live at Leeds Festival and Hit the North Festival, perform at Kendal Calling, Truck Festival and Tramlines, and are main support for Gerry Cinnamon at Glasgow Hampden Park. They return to the UK in October for their biggest London show to date at Alexandra Palace.
THE GLOW will be available to purchase on CD, download and heavyweight black vinyl as well as limited edition heavyweight tricolour vinyl through HMV and independent record stores. There will also be exclusive merchandise bundles with signed prints plus limited-edition heavyweight transparent green vinyl and cassette when purchased through the band’s store at: https://dmas.lnk.to/storePR

DMA’S are Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took. The band formed in Sydney and made an immediate impression with their self-titled 2014 debut EP. Their full-length debut, HILLS END, saw them crash into Australia’s Top 10, before the second album FOR NOW cemented them as a force globally. The first album earned three ARIA Music Award nominations for Best Group, Best Rock Album and Best Independent Release. In 2018, they became one of the first Australian bands to play the iconic MTV Unplugged session, following in the footsteps of all-time greats such as Nirvana, Oasis and R.E.M. The performance was captured in last year’s MTV UNPLUGGED LIVE album.
FOR NOW, released in 2018, achieved their highest UK chart position of #13, boosted by huge ongoing support at daytime radio. An impressive 40,000 tickets were sold on their headline UK tours in 2019, and they continued that ascension with main stage sets at Isle of Wight, TRNSMT and Citadel alongside huge outdoor shows with Courteeners and Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds.
