BEABADOOBEE – HOW WAS YOUR DAY? // AVAILABLE NOW // DEBUT LP // FAKE IT FLOWERS // 16 OCTOBER 2020 // FAKE IT FLOWERS TOUR // SEP – OCT 2021

BEABADOOBEE, one of the UK’s most exciting recent breakthrough artists, has shared her new single, HOW WAS YOUR DAY, the latest track from her forthcoming debut album, FAKE IT FLOWERS, to be released on 16 October via Dirty Hit.

The track is an ode to the acoustic sounds of Bea’s earlier EPs and was recorded on a four-track cassette recorder in her boyfriend’s garden when her studio was closed at the beginning of the pandemic. The lo-fi video also calls back to her earlier collaborations with bedroom, who directed the nostalgia-tinged video made of footage of Bea and her loved ones together over the past few months.

How Was Your Day? is a track that explores all the relationships I neglected when I was away from home,” explains Bea. “I wanted to emphasise the rawness of the lyrics with the song socially, which is why I recorded it on a four-track with all the little mistakes and vocal wobbles included. I wanted the music video to feel nostalgic for me, to include all the people I care about, it took me back to the time I first started making music.”

HOW WAS YOUR DAY is the latest single from BEABADOOBEE’s highly anticipated debut album, FAKE IT FLOWERS, released on 16 October via Dirty Hit. It follows the previous singles CARE, which has been streamed almost four million times, WORTH IT and SORRY, described by The Guardian as “a masterfully restrained expression of regret, eventually pushing sardonic 90s alt-rock into sky-splitting territory”.

Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Bea Kristi began recording music as BEABADOOBEE in 2017. At just 20 years old, she has built her huge, dedicated Gen-Z fan base with her flawless output of confessional bedroom pop songs and DIY aesthetic. Her first track, COFFEE, gathered hundreds of thousands of streams in a matter of days, through a fan-uploaded video, and has since taken on new life as a sample in Powfu’s TikTok and worldwide chart-dominating hit.

Earlier this year Bea took to the road on a UK arena tour with labelmates the 1975, which included two sold out shows at London O2 Arena. The end of 2019 also saw her tour the USA with Clairo, headline the sold-out Dirty Hit Tour, and release her acclaimed third EP SPACE CADET, the follow up to 2018’s Dirty Hit debut PATCHED UP EP and her stardom-cementing LOVEWORM EP.
