After returning to deliver their blissful new cut ‘Raincheck’ in May, Edinburgh natives Liimo (meaning a little bit more) are back once again to share the official video for their latest release.
With its bright and plucky guitars, huge synth riff and lead singer Kieran O’Brien’s evocative and subtle vocals, the video for ‘Raincheck’ was filmed during lockdown with the band recruiting a flurry of dancers to add their own take on the sweeping new offering. Filled with bold and emotive dance moves throughout, the visuals add a whole new perspective to this rich and anthemic alt-pop delight.
Speaking about the video, Liimo said, “We had so many ideas for this music video but with everything that’s going on right now we had to put it all on hold. Despite all that, we still wanted to create, and put something special out that involved our friends and fans. You could say that everyone’s having to take a raincheck on so many things at the moment, so we figured anything that brings us closer together right now is a good thing right? We’re super happy with how the videos turned out; a massive thanks to everyone who got involved and helped us make something fun out of a difficult situation.”
‘Raincheck’ follows the release of ‘All I Do’ and ‘Thinking About It’, which cemented Liimo’s talent for writing killer pop music and saw them gather incredible pick up from media tastemakers such as The Line Of Best Fit, The Scotsman ‘Under The Radar’, Earmilk, Euphoria Magazine and Record of the Day to name a few, as well as support from major DPSs.
Having toured with LA alt rock band The Mowglis earlier this year, Liimo were due to head out on a headline UK tour this spring, including a date at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters. However, owing to the current global pandemic regarding COVID-19, the dates have been postponed to Autumn 2020.
With over 3 million across all platforms, Spotify support on New Music Friday (UK and Japan), Your Office Stereo, Discover Weekly, Chilled Pop Hits, All New All Now, New Pop Revolution, Apple playlisting on Today At Apple, In My Room, Mellow Days, New Music Daily and a Best New Pop play by BBC Radio 1’s Adele Roberts, Liimo’s status as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands has only solidified.
With the release of ‘Raincheck’, the band continue this trajectory skyward. Previous singles include ‘Old School’, ‘If You Love Me’, ‘Pink In Heaven‘, ‘Get Weird’ featuring LA artist Lizzy Land and their debut single ‘Pineapple Radio’. Previous online support has come by way of The 405, CLASH, who hailed their debut single “an intoxicating beginning”, EARMILK, 1883 Magazine, Euphoria Magazine, and When The Horn Blows to name a few. Last year, they covered Usher’s ‘U Remind Me’ for Mahogany’s COVERS sessions. Watch it here https://youtu.be/7eh_9gEXERE
