Previous single “Slap Bang” playlisted by Planet Rock radio and winner of Loudersounds Tracks Of the Week – July 2020
UK based alt rock trio Mercutio are set to release new single, “Playtime”, on the 30th October 2020.
Following the critical and commercially acclaimed release of previous single “Slap Bang” in July 2020 (see the video for “Slap Bang” HERE), the bands new single continues to deliver supremely infectious rock songs. Kicking off with a driving bass line, “Playtime” develops into a rock song with huge chorus and stunning drop down. The unique powerful and intense vocals of Ross Willian Wild are perfectly showcased. A video for “Playtime” is now available HERE.
The Covid lockdown did not see the band idle. In addition to working on material for their forthcoming studio album, the band put together a cover of Dua Lipa track “New Rules” featuring a lockdown video HERE
2019 saw the band welcome new vocalist Ross William Wild. A stunning performer and vocalist Ross come with a wealth of experience as a vocalist in both musical theatre and with a stint singing with the legendary Spandau Ballet in 2017. The band add “Since Ross joined the band, his unbelievable energy and attitude made us feel the need to go back to our roots and unleash some dirty grunge vibes but stay true to our style.”
The band lineup is completed by guitarist and founding member Fabio Staffieri and drummer Francesco Lucidi. Francesco recently starred as the drummer in Elton John’s band in the critically and commercially acclaimed “Rocketman” film
Mercutio’s 2020 live touring schedule was derailed by Covid and the band are looking to add dates in 2021 asap. For up to date gig and ticket news please see http://mercutio.me
