New Single “Play Dead” Out Now- As Heard on KROQ, Spotify’s “New Noise” and “All New Rock” Playlists
“Brings it way loud…Reminiscent of early Thrice, while the weight of the bass and drums shoots a nod to Queens of The Stone Age.”– Alternative Press
LA rockers NEW LANGUAGE will play Day 3 (October 13) of Aftershock Festival this weekend in Sacramento, CA, alongside Tool, KORN, A Day To Remember, Chevelle, Baby Metal, Gojira, The Hu, and many more.

NEW LANGUAGE continues to offer glimpses into their new era with the release of “Play Dead” which dropped on October 4th, to coincide with the band’s Aftershock Festival appearance. The new track digs into the band’s hard rock roots to blast a resounding statement not to be missed.
The song urges listeners to pull from deep within, to “hold onto something that was said. Something that was done to you,” and to use that as the driving force towards the positive movement the individual is seeking, whatever that may be. “You don’t have to PLAY DEAD.”
“Play Dead” was produced by the group’s lead vocalist Tyler Demorest, who has worked on official MUSE remixes, the 2018 Ghostbusters movie trailer, Jigsaw (SAW Franchise), and more.
“Play Dead” builds off the mass success of their previous single “House of Cards,” which was the only independent track to maintain Top 20 placement on the FMQB Alt Specialty Charts for 2 consecutive weeks. “House of Cards” also was #1 on KROQ Locals Only for several weeks, Top 5 for 6 weeks total and was featured on Spotify’s New Noise playlist.
NEW LANGUAGE has previously had success on Spotify’s Rock Hard, Totally Alt, New Noise, Rise Up and The Scene with their smash hits “Give In” (KROQ’s Top 10 Local Tracks of 2018) “Frantic Believer” and more leading to appearances on Warped Tour and KROQ Locals Only Fest.
The band has racked up over 1.5 million streams on Spotify, with an average of 35,000 monthly listeners. Their videos have been viewed over 100,000 times on Youtube.
NEW LANGUAGE has also toured and played shows with the likes of Papa Roach, The Used, Gone Is Gone, Will Haven and more.
NEW LANGUAGE continues to build momentum for the release of their 2nd full-length album in early 2020.
