Biffy Clyro Blackpool Empress Ballroom 1st May 2010
The scene was set after arriving in Blackpool just after 4pm, walking past the Winter gardens and a queue was already forming to what was set to be a night to remember. By the time Biffy entered the venue the whole place was buzzing looking forward to seeing Scottish rock heroes Biffy take to an elegant venue set in side Blackpool winter gardens.
Roars of “mon the biff” were starting to fill the hall, as the lights went down and the band took to the stage with “The Golden Hour”, the hall just erupted in to song and dance. A mixed age group taken in the years that Biffy have been around for.
The band played a mix set of old and new and every song was given with the same response. The whole venue was bouncing and you could feel every movement on the venues wooden dance floor the spring was just amazing as biffy raised the roof. Highlight songs from the set “Bubbles”, “Just Boy”, “9/15ths”, “God and Satan”, “Mountains” and “Saturday Superhouse”. The band were in top form and inviting singers Zoe & James from first support band “Rolo Tomassi” to help out with “There’s No such thing as a jaggy snake”.
“Many of horror” paved way for the band to end the show in pure Biffy still with encores having the crowd in full vocal with songs “cloud of stink”, “Machines”, ”Convex, Concave” and finishing off the show with “The Captain” having the crowd in full voice the band and audience dripping in sweat from one of Biffy’s outstanding shows. Biffy put the Rock back in to Blackpool.
