Dan Reed and his bassist Bengan Jonasson were the victims of theft in Sweden last night when their guitars were stolen after a tour date.
The band played at the Gota Kallare venue in Stockholm, and were signing copies of new album Coming Up For Air when the backstage theft took place.
Reed says: "We had a truly amazing time, and I'd like to thank everyone who attended the show and who have left comments online.
"Unfortunately Bengan's bass was stolen, as was my guitar, while we were out signing CDs.
"If anyone hears a word on who felt the need to do that, please let us know."
Reed recently staged a full-electric comeback with a series of low-key tours after leaving the music business when he quit Dan Reed Network. He lived in a Tibetan monestary for a time, re-evaluating his life, where he used the stolen guitar to explore new musical directions and artistic dynamics.
Most of the new songs on Coming Up For Air, which is being critically acclaimed as musically inventive and emotionally powerful, were written on the instrument.
