Dundonian indie rascals The View are close to completing work on what they claim will be an extremely "different" third album.
The View burst out of Dundee with some breakneck indie anthems and a ton of ambition. Yet the band have always tried to move forwards, with their second album 'Which Bitch?' finding them introducing elements of classical music and rap.
Moving to Liverpool to get some peace from party-hardy friends, The View have been stockpiling new material. ClashMusic spoke to them last year and singer Kyle Falconer claimed that they had enough material for two albums.
Now the band have revealed that work is almost complete on their third album, which will contain a few surprises for fans.

Scottish post-rock heroes Mogwai are to release 2-disc live album and DVD 'Special Moves' / 'Burning' on August 23rd.
The Mogwai live experience is difficult to convey in words. The extreme volume, for starters, is difficult to replicate on a computer screen. Even if we were to TYPE IN CAPITALS it doesn't quite get the ear destroying effect across.
Last year the band took over Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg for three nights, containing some very special performances. Reaching through the full power of their back catalogue Mogwai were on astonishing form, letting the New York hipsters know exactly how the shit goes down back in Glasgow.
For those of us who couldn't quite get there, it's perhaps fortunate that directors Vincent Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec dropped by to record proceedings. Mixing the streets of New York with Mogwai's stunning music, the result is a groundbreaking music film.
'Burning' was premiered earlier this year, with Mogwai hosting a special party in London. Now fans will be able to buy the full package, alongside a special eleven track live album called 'Special Moves'.
Mogwai's first live compilation, Stuart Braithwaite insists that it is not a 'Best Of'. The guitarist stated: “I don’t think we’re a very ‘Greatest Hits’ kind of band, but if we ever did release one, we’ve already decided to call it ‘The Sh*test P*sh’. I think that fact alone means we can never go through with it.”| News - Latest |
The line up for T In The Park just keeps getting bigger with Editors amongst the latest batch of additions.

Legendary Scottish songwriter Edwyn Collins has joined up with The Cribs, Franz Ferdinand and more for his new album.
An indie legend, Edwyn Collins remains a passionate and enduring artist. Battling back from severe health issues, the one time Orange Juice singer has roped in a cast of admirers to supplement his new album.
The hugely influential singer is currently completing his new solo album, which will feature some well known names. Edwyn Collins has seized the reins for his first full length solo release since suffering from ill health in 2005.
Now able to tour, the singer has been joined by some of his biggest fans. Forthcoming release 'Losing Sleep' will be augmented by Ryan Jarman and Johnny Marr of The Cribs, who Edwyn Collins once produced.
Johnny Marr of course strummed the six string (and occasional four, eight and twelve strings) with The Smiths, making this a meeting of two genuine indie icons.
Elsewhere, Franz Ferdinand songwriters Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy join forces to help out Edwyn Collins. The two have been fulsome in their praise of the Postcard Records era, with their label Domino collecting those classic early Orange Juice onto the album 'The Glasgow School'.
