After being met with vast demand, TRNSMT 2020 is shaping up to be a defining weekend in this summer’s festival season – as 150,000 fans flock to Glasgow Green to make new TRNSMT memories. After revealing the headliners and first batch of performers at the end of 2019, a huge new wave of acts have been confirmed across three stages, delivering the festival line-up bound to elicit unbelievable scenes from the greatest crowd on the planet.

Joining headliners Lewis Capaldi, Liam Gallagher and Courteeners, a true breadth in styles and sounds are primed to make their mark on Glasgow Green this summer. Responsible for arguably the defining party anthem of the past 12 months, AJ Tracey is primed to continue his rise at TRNSMT 2020. In ‘Ladbroke Grove’ and his self-titled debut album, the Londoner has demonstrated a fresh twist on the modern UK rap revolution, taking him to mammoth festival moments and sold out arenas as a result. Dermot Kennedy knows a thing or two about these big stages. The Brit nominated Irish songwriter has emerged as one of the most talked about artists in the past year, with his earnest tales and powerful tones taking his debut album ‘Without Fear’ to the top of the charts both in his native Ireland and the UK. Poised for a passionate reaction, get ready for the next step in his ascent to the very top at TRNSMT 2020. Firmly on the pulse of 2020, his set is guaranteed to be a highlight of the weekend. Weaving his own charming take on hip-hop, Loyle Carner has emerged as one of this generation’s most astute wordsmiths. Latest album ‘Not Waving, But Drowning’ cemented his reputation as a truly unique artist, serving up arena-sized shows with ease and lining up bouncing crowds for each and every track.

Likewise, Amy Macdonald is ready to serenade Glasgow Green this summer, with her timeless tales and singalong bursts with hits such as ‘This Is The Life’ and ‘Mr Rock & Roll’ bound to be a highlight in the heart of her hometown. Fizzing with grunge kicks and heartfelt songwriting, it’s clear why Beabadoobee has become a go-to name when it comes to the artists primed to bag 2020 for their own. Rising out of the Dirty Hit staple of incredible new artists, she’s scooped nominations and 2020 tips at every turn and for good reason – with ripping tracks and EPs of gold already out in the world. The countdown to the next big thing begins now, and by the time TRNSMT 2020 comes around, be ready to see a superstar stepping out on stage. Stacked with acclaim also is Georgia, whose return with new album ‘Seeking Thrills’ has ignited the biggest stages and reaction of her career. Full of sad-pop bops, ‘About Work The Dancefloor’ and ‘Never Let You Go’ are born for big festival moments with TRNSMT 2020 ready and waiting. Getting the crowd going on Glasgow Green, Yxng Bane will make his TRNSMT debut, bringing his fusion of afrobeat hits and unstoppable party-groovers perfect for a summer day in the heart of Glasgow. Alternative rock giants Jimmy Eat World know how to serve up a true festival moment. For over 20 years, the Arizona natives have led the way when it comes to hands in the air festival moments and with the likes of ‘Sweetness’, ‘Pain’ and ‘The Middle’ in their back-catalogue, their special appearance at TRNSMT is bound to follow suit.

Speaking about playing TRNSMT 2020, Amy Macdonald said:
“This will be my first TRNSMT and it’s amazing to be able to play a huge festival in the middle of my home town which has become such an important showcase for Scotland’s rich musical talent. I’m so excited to be back in front of the great Glasgow crowd and relish the challenge of proving just how much women can really rock on the big festival stage.”

The thrills keep coming, with indie-prince Declan McKenna marking his return to the spotlight this summer with a glistening set on Glasgow Green. After the storming success of his debut album ‘What Do You Think About The Car?’ and a landmark set at TRNSMT 2018 draped in a yellow cagoule, you’d be a fool to think his return in 2020 with new album ‘Zeroes’ in tow will be anything less than elevating. BBC 6 Music favourites and one of the most all-encompassing new bands of the past six months, The Murder Capital will make their TRNSMT bow for what’s sure to be a powerful and emotional release in keeping with the stunning beauty of their debut album ‘When I Have Fears’, whilst the high-flying fourpiece Sea Girls bring the palpable joy with their infectious guitar hooks strapped across each and every track – continuing a journey that has seen them plastered across radio dials and venues up and down the UK. Expect ‘All I Wanna Hear You Say’, ‘Damage Done’ and ‘Violet’ to go off by the time July comes around. A set that has all the makings of a classic, Ms Banks heads to Glasgow Green this summer, taking her cocktail of styles and sounds to emphatic new heights when a live setting comes calling. After appearing on stage and collaborating with a plethora of big-time stars, it’s now time for Ms Banks to truly take over.

Whether it’s the hit-chimes of Coventry MC Jay1, side-splitting indie revivalists Sports Team opening the TRNSMT Main Stage to the crowning new tones of Joy Crookes, the punk rips of The Regrettes, one of North England’s brightest guitar hopefuls The Lathums, garage-laced pop gems from Miraa May, anthemic Irish four-piece Picture This, sweeping stripped-back cuts from Ryan McMullan, indie legends Ash and more – there’s something for everyone at TRNSMT 2020.

Ash drummer Rick McMurray said:
“We’re super excited to be playing TRNSMT this summer as part of our 25th anniversary year. It will also be my first gig as a 45 year old so it’s a double celebration! Woop!”

Ryan McMullan said:
“Scottish crowds are one of the best in the world, and I hear TRNSMT crowds are the best of Scottish crowds. So I’m beyond excited to play it!”

The Lathums said:
“We can’t wait to play this year’s TRNSMT festival. We seem to have a massive fan base that keeps growing in Scotland so we’re absolutely buzzing to be playing this year”.

Steeped in music history, the city of Glasgow and Scotland as a whole will once again celebrate their own at TRNSMT 2020 as the bursting scene that runs through the country heads to the Green. Joining the previously announced Twin Atlantic, a crowning moment on Glasgow Green will fall to indie trio Vistas, in a year that promises to see the arrival of their debut album ‘Everything Changes In The End’. Tipped across the board for huge things in the year ahead, Scottish Music Awards ‘Breakthrough’ artist Joesef hits TRNSMT for the first time, for a dazzling look at the future of pop in the flesh from one of the city’s own. Declan Welsh & The Decadent West continue their sizzling ride proving why Declan stands as one of the most exciting rising names in British indie, while the mesmeric pop sounds of Tamzene graduates to the King Tut’s Stage this year – with new single ‘Soldier’ an indicator of the world she’s creating. Ripping their way across BBC Radio 1 already, Spyres will be making their debut at TRNSMT 2020 with latest single ‘Fake ID’ an indicator of the big stages they’re destined to fill in the years to come – while Dylan John Thomas rings into view, fresh from dates supporting Gerry Cinnamon. With the BBC’s Scottish Songwriter Of The Year Mike McKenzie stepping up to the stage as a part of his prize too – TRNSMT is the home of the most exciting new artists ready to slot into music collections across the UK and beyond. A snapshot of a golden era for Scottish music, TRNSMT 2020 is the homecoming and epicentre of a movement that needs to be witnessed first hand.

Speaking about his homecoming show, Declan Welsh said:
“To be playing such a huge event in our home city is something we are so excited for. We love Glasgow, we’ve been about a bit and it’s still the best place in the world to play, so to be stepping out in front of a home crowd is gonna be special. At our last St Lukes show there were mosh pits to the ballads, so here’s hoping for more of the same.”

Dyan John Thomas said:
I’m buzzing for TRNSMT. I grew up 5 minutes away from Glasgow Green now I’m playing there. Mad. If the King Tuts show is anything to go by, the Tuts stage will be bouncing.”

Dip your toes into the glorious psych-world of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, fresh from sold out shows across the UK, or get swept up by the sweet indie-pop of trio Kawala. Dance in unison in front of the TRNSMT Main Stage to the infectious singalong favourites of the House Gospel Choir or bare witness to the screeding indie riffs of Red Rum Club in full flight. TRNSMT is packed with new experiences for the capacity crowd in Glasgow to get their teeth into.

River Stage is the perfect place to catch the breaking new artists who’ll be playing larger stages in the years to come first. In 2020, TRNSMT is serving out some absolute belters with a curated who’s who of local and international talent making waves. Headliners on the Friday night The Ninth Wave are intrinsically linked with the artistic flair born from the city of Glasgow, with their synth-led 80s gloom pop perfectly captured in their debut album ‘Infinity’. Across the weekend, a diverse mix of breakthrough names will be setting up shop, including the woozing magic of BBC 6 Music favourites Pip Blom continuing their critically revered ascent, Another Sky and their multi-layered soundscapes that have come to be likened to a young Radiohead and likewise The Mysterines, a band surging with sellout shows stacking up the diary as we speak. They’ll be joined across the weekend by a sizzling array of talent, from local rippers Rascalton, the spellbinding clicks of Saturday headliner Orla Gartland, bound to be huge riser Chloe Moriondo and Sunday stage closers Saint Phnx to the Lewis Capaldi-approved Luke La Volpe, vibing party spinner ShayBo, the kicking riffs of Voodoos, smart-pop architects St Martiins, the jaw-dropping sounds of Lyra, punchy pop-rock leaders Vukovi and much more. It all starts on Glasgow Green.
